A country develops economically when the technical knowledge and skills of its manpower are put to optimum use in productive activities. The Government of India has therefore decided to produce technical manpower in a planned manner according to the actual requirements of the country by providing opportunities for the development of Technical Education in a systematic way. With this objective in view, the Government of India has formed National Technical Manpower Information System (NTMIS) with 21 Nodal Centers in different states which work under the guidance of the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi.
