In the final analysis a Technological University has to play its role, as a partner of industry, in the economic development of the country. As a premier institution devoted to the growth of Science, Engineering, Technology and Management and to the development of human resources in these areas, the University envisages meaningful collaboration between promoters, entrepreneurs and R&D organisations. In effect Bureau of Industrial Consultancy Services (BICS) provides the University's interface with industry. Currently, BICS is well recognised in the Andhra Pradesh and in the states around A.P. The annual turn over of consultancy in the University is about 60 lakh rupees. BICS is headed by a director and assisted by academic assistants , technicians staff.

The objectives and functions of BICS are :
To assess the human resource needs of the industrial units
To identify the R&D needs of the Industry and to coordinate with different units and constituent colleges for the development and transfer of technology.
To utilise facilities and expertise available with the University for consultancy on specific projects.
To identify the opportunities for promoting entrepreneurship.
To monitor and co-ordinate the activities of various agencies related to technology and management for mutual benefit.

The list of clientele is vast and includes most state government organisations such as Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA), Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH), Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), Andhra Pradesh State Tribal Welfare Corporation, Andhra Pradesh Housing Board, Andhra Pradesh State Electricity Board and Central Government organisations such as Telecommuni-cation Department, MES, South Central Railway, Public Sector Undertakings suchas Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), National Thermal Power Corporation ( NTPC), Oil and Natural Gas commission (ONGC), Environmental Training Protection Training Institute (EPTRI) Airport Authority of India and a large number of private organisations.
